It’s The Little Things

How could it not, when Hildie brings so much joy to her writing, her friendships, and her blog. Every morning, I wake to the excitement of my two little dogs. Seems they’ve been waiting eagerly for the moment I wake and sit up because they throw a party. Yelping, tails wagging they follow me as I trudge to the kitchen for my first cup of tea and more importantly their snack.
It got me to thinking about those small things that make life so great, the everyday nuances that we take for granted, but that create each moment.
Today I tried to keep track and was surprised at how many things I take for granted daily. Like the soft country music that drifts through my house as I load the washing machine, the soft breeze of the fan over me while I write. The view from my window to the soon to be changing foliage swaying gently in the breeze and one of my little dogs sleeping in a ray of sunshine keeps my attention.
Our life is complicated enough, between work, errands and deadlines, we need to stop take a deep breath, throw our shoulders back and smile. The secret of happiness is all around us. It’s in the little things.
So dear reader, do it now, look around and appreciate.

Welcome to Romance & Beyond, it’s a pleasure to have you here. I did the exercise today but since you put the awareness bug in me, I started to appreciate what I take for granted with a new eye, and a new heart.
